Retail Associate
These are the common questions people ask me if they know that I am working in the Retail Industry.''You work in retail? Wow!''
For some, it's awkward, for me, it's normal. It's my perk anyway.
Sounds good to hear, is it?
I have worked in the retail industry for 4 years - that's the summary of all the work experience that I incurred.
Fortunately, I was accepted easily by my current company.
There are pros and cons if you work in the Retail.
Let's check first on the pros.
- Perks!
Lucky you, If you are working in a giant retail company tendency is, you will be receiving some of the following:
- discount program such as staff discounts up to 50% (my company offers 50% discount during retail employee day and up to 30 percent discount regularly),
- employee rewards like participating in different events and activities or being commended and appreciated for working with the company
- financial benefits for employees as mandated by the labor law such as paid vacation leave, air ticket allowance (if you work abroad), Emergency leave- not paid, and Sick leave is available as well.
- getting a tip from the customer (if the company allows you to accept)
- Rest day during your birthday
- Compensatory Off ( Offset during holidays)
- Paid Overtime
How about the cons?
check this out:
- Customers
As a retail associate, we are interacting in an environment with a different race and populace. We can't deny the fact that sometimes we are being treated differently. Some customers are racist, some are nice, and some could understand if you explain the return policy, for example. Another customer will treat you as their personal assistant, if they are not satisfied, they will complain to the manager or else write an email to the company itself.
As a retail associate, Our goal is to make our customers happy and satisfied. But other customers are taking it to the next level. Despite the quote '' Customer is always right". We cannot do anything about it unless the customer acts violently.
Retail Company nowadays are protecting their credibility. So to avoid these things. They are pro-consumer, without consumers buying the product, there is no income at all.
- Rest Days
If you work in retail, don't expect to get a rest day during the holidays. Holidays are the hotspots for retailers as consumers tend to visit the malls and splurge for shopping. Other retail shops offer sales during holidays as well so expect the crowd during these days.
For a retail associate, we call it block days- days that we can't go on vacation.
Peak season starts from November until January. So we can't request a vacation on these months unless there's an allotted manpower.
Working overtime? Of course! It's extra pay for you, however, despite overwork, you feel tired the entire day and you can't even manage to do things that you want to do.
- Workload
If you work in children's clothing for example. A lot of merchandise items need to be prepared and displayed. So if you haven't tried working in this type of industry, you might tend to quit easily. Customers are happy and love to shop, so we need to make sure that everything is well set and shoppable. However, despite these good results of hard work, we can't avoid the fact that the workload is very high.Despite these Cons. It's a fulfillment for me to work in the Retail Industry.
It boosts the level of my self-confidence. I don't talk a lot to anyone, However when I started working in this field. It changed everything.
Meeting different people, Working with the team, interacting with the customer, and helping them mean a lot to me.
By the end of the day. You and your team will be productive, you made someone happy because you helped them.
You contributed to the growth of the company and the company gives you in return.
Fulfilling, isn't it?
So for those people who want to work in retail.
Do some research, especially for those first-timers who want to work.
Thank you for reading my blog and see you next time.

Shifting out Should I?
Shifting out to another place is very difficult. Especially to expatriates.
The struggle is real
If you are working in the United Arab Emirates, You know what I mean.
2 years ago, I don't have a permanent location, I am shifting to different emirates.
From Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman , Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
The good thing? I already visited the entire Emirates! :D Including Al Ain too!
Pieces of Stuff, After all these years, shall I keep it or dispose of it?
I have a lot of stuff from my wardrobe, table, bed, kitchen utensils, and more. So I need someone to shift these pieces of pieces of stuff. Good thing there are transport shifting services around the corner. Just contact them, ask them for a good price and you're good to go :)
Charges, Fees - Ouch!
How much is the charge then? Well, it depends on the emirate. As far as I remember, I paid 500 Dirhams to shift out to Ajman from Sharjah that's roughly $137.
Comparing the rentals from different Emirates
From Ajman to Fujairah roughly $200. (ouch). Anyway, the only benefit you will get is the cheap rental flats from Ajman going to Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. (yey) .
I noticed, that the farther you stay away from Dubai or Abu Dhabi, the cheaper the rents are. Ajman Fujairah, and RAK (Ras Al Khaimah) - the rent for the electricity and internet includes everything in one payment (As per my experience). However, in Dubai - the payment for the Water, Electricity, and Internet is separated. Thus, It still depends on your landlord on how she collects the payment.
Verdict- Abu Dhabi for now
At the moment, I am currently residing here in the Capital of the UAE- Abu Dhabi.
The rental of the flat is 25% less compared to Dubai.
I am paying 925 Dirhams roughly $253 for my partition that includes everything. And my workplace is just opposite of the building where I currently reside. I saved a lot from my transportation as well.
Little Comparison- Not much but convenience and privacy
Where compared to Sharjah - the next emirate to Dubai, where the rental is highly similar to Dubai.
I am paying 750 Dirhams (Down bed-double decker)- Bedspacer along with some roommates of 6 people. Imagine that? Canned sardines? So the water, electricity, and internet bills are not included. so I'm paying roughly 850 dirhams. Sounds cheaper compared to Abu Dhabi right? But what about the comfort? Privacy? It's limited I say.
Therefore- Abu Dhabi is Better (for now)
As I said, I am currently residing in Abu Dhabi. I am living together with my two other roommates in a clean well tidy and noise-free flat.
Just the 3 of us... Yes, and we have privacy too :)
Recommendations!
So I am writing this article to recommend a Flat which is currently available as of the moment.
This flat is situated in the City Center of Abu Dhabi- Tourist Club Area.
This building where the flat is situated is very accessible to all establishments such as :
- Abu Dhabi Mall
- City Terminal - if you want to drop off your luggage in advance to the airport
- Ramada Hotel - they are just neighbors with the building and the landmark as well.
- KM Supermarket- if you need to buy some goods
- Restaurants such as Mang Inasal, Jollibee, and other Filipino Restaurants
- Capacious Parking Lot- worry-free since the building provides a parking area for its tenants.
- 7th Floor Spot
- Bus Station- it's a few steps away from the bus station - that most 2 to 3-digit buses pass by on this spot going and coming by the city. So it is very convenient for everyone who wants to live in this area. As I have mentioned, it's the city center itself.
Please refer to the pictures below. What's inside the flat.

6 steps on how to get blog views
The title of the article seems catchy huh? Is it?
Let's face the fact!
It's a reality. You have a passion for blogging. But for some reason. YOU are not earning much something from it.
"I have the resources. But why I don't earn that much? " - A lot of people ask this question ( including myself )
You cannot earn money from blogging overnight.
It takes time, patience, and perseverance to earn your hard-earned cold passive income. It will take months and months and months. Trust me. I earned 8 Dirhams for the past 4 months. The reason behind it?
Just continue reading below...
I started my interest in earning money online, 5 years ago. I was curious. How do these people earn money online?
And so I started self-studying. Doing some research. And eventually. I stumble on blogging. I learned how to set up my own blog site. Reading some articles about blogging.
Learning Google Analytics, Adword implementation, publisher content, domain installation, monetization, and optimization of my blog.
All these things I learned, for free from the internet. But it seems that something is missing.
I am receiving organic traffic from my blog. However, this organic traffic is very low.
Website Traffic- is the lifeblood of an online business.

Particularly for the first time an aspiring blogger. If you are passionate about a goal that you want to. Then just focus on that goal. Just stick with it and learn something from it.

Personal Training
Professional Fitness Trainer Recommended
And I am writing a review again about the staff of the Barbel Gym.
I'm talking about my coach instructor. If you want to hire him as a personal trainer don't hesitate to ask me. Definitely, it's a YES.
He will assess you, provide you the right meal plan (as what he provided me), and will give you a set of exercises every week. Depending on your schedule, he can provide you the set of exercises accordingly.
One thing I like about my coach is that, apart from giving you the exercises, he will walk you through the process of how to use the equipment properly, what are the correct postures while exercising, and educating me throughout the sessions like what are the do's and don'ts.
For your reference. I have gathered some information about my coach's fitness certifications and other details.
